I came across this old Ann Landers article my Mom had put away, thought I would share.

Dear Ann Landers,
I am flat broke from overspending at Christmas time. But I need to go shopping again soon because I am completely out of self respect. I've said things I wish I could that back and I'm not feeling to good about myself.
I also want to exchange a carton of self righteousness for an equal amount of humility. I hear it is expensive and wears well, and while I'm at it, I'm going to check on tolerance and see if there is any available in my size.
I must remember to try to match my patience with the little I have left. My neighbor is loaded with it and it looks awfully good on her. I was told the same department has a repair shop for mending integrity. Mine has become frayed around the edges from too much compromising. If I don't get it refurbished soon there won't be any left.
I almost forgot the most important thing of all - compassion. If I see some no matter what color, size, or shape, I'm going to stock up heavily, regardless of the price. I have run out of it so many times and I always feel ashamed when it happens.
I don't know why it has taken me so long to get around to shopping for these items. They don't cost hardly as much as some of the frivolous things I bought at Christmas time, and I'll get a lot more satisfaction from them.
Yes, I'm going shopping today and I can leave my checkbook and credit cards at home! The things I'm looking for have no price tags. What a Joy!

Rainy Day

I was thinking about how some people don't like it when it rains, I myself never like to get caught out it the rain. But the Lord made it to rain to cleanse the earth. Genesis 6 God looked down upon the earth & it grieved his heart. The earth was corrupt & filled with violence. He had Noah build the ark so he could send the rain.
The rain cleanses the earth, it washes away the dirt, it waters & feeds the grass, trees, the gardens making things new - cleansing them.
We as christians are not perfect, we fall, make mistakes, we are human. Fallen sinners saved by the grace of God. If God had not sent his son to shed his blood for us, washing & cleansing our sins away. Chist did that for us. I like to think the rain is God's way of reminding us, that just like the rain washes & cleanses. Christ did the same for us.
So the next time it rains remember to give Thanks for your Salvation. For the blood of Christ that washes away our sins. The old song, What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus.
If you haven't accepted Christ as your Saviour. It is never to late, he is waiting for you. Ask him into your heart.
A- admit you are a sinner (Romans 3:23)
B- believe Jesus will save you (Acts 16:31)
C- confess that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9)
Gal 1:4-5 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Thank you dear heavenly Father for sending your precious son Jesus to die for my sins. Amen
Prasie the Lord, I think that is something to smile about, so the next time it rains, I'll be Smiling & giving God the Glory.

Praying for each and everyone here at our prayer page!
I pray Father God would minister his hope/healing/restore you/and cherish you with his amazing love!
Father, I come to you in the sweet name of Jesus, lifting each and everyone up to you in the name of jesu,
I ask you to comfort and pour the healing balm of Jesus
over each one here, Father, there are so many hurting hearts here tonight, Father heal broken and hurting hearts,
Father, I pray you would pour your amazing presence upon
each one here, You are our anchor Father, you hold us UP when we feel so down, when we need to feel HOPE, and love, joy and peace, may the power of your mighty hand touch, deliver and set us free from hurting in pain so badly some days we cannot figure out how to move..... We need YOU jesus, we need your touch, you are the king of kings and lord of lords, we need you to reach down and love us, hold us, and remove doubt, fears, worries, and anxiety from OUR lives, depression, I pray WILL GO in the name of Jesus, Loose us from all the hurts we are walking thru, Let us feel you with his, renewing, reviving, redeeming and restoring our minds, bodies and spirits, letting us walk in the "spirit of favor", heal us, (psalms 103v3)

THE MIND CONTROLLED BY THE SPIRIT IS LIFE AND PEACE

IF YOU ARE BURDENED WITH ANXIETY, WORRY AND FEAR MEDITATE ON THIS>

Renew your mind with the washing of the water of Gods word.
Bring your thoughts into consistent agreement with the mind of Christ.
If your mind wanders and you go back to destructive thinking, ask God for the help of His grace to dicipline your mind.
Wait on God and receive His peace.Ask Him to free your mind from the stress of all worries.
Pray with an open heart and hopeful expectancy.
Keep a steadfast mind toward Christ. Continue to seek His victory over worry and fretting , and pray through.
Take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Do not allow your mind to churn with worries.
Instead of worrying; PRAY!" Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers ,letting God know your concerns. Before you know it sense of Gods wholeness, everything coming together for good will come and settle you down. Its wonderful what happens when CHRIST DISPLACES WORRY AT THE CENTER OF YOUR LIFE."!

Hold On - Genesis 32:24-32

We all go through times that we struggle, sometimes it seems like a constant battle. So I just wanted to share this with you.

We read how Jacob had went off alone, to be alone with God to pray. We read how he wrestled all night with a man, some say it was an angel I personally think it was God himself. In Hosea we are told how Jacob wrestled, wept, making supplications. His prayers & tears were his weapons. Jacob continued to struggle even after the morning came, he stood his ground & refused to give up. His thigh was out of joint, he still continue to hold on. He wasn't discouraged, it didn't shake his faith, nor stop his prayer.
He was acting on his faith, & his desire for a blessing from God. The bible states he wrestled a man, when the man asked him to let go, Jacob said "I will not let thee go, except thou bless me". Jacob held on to this man refusing to let go, to give in, to stop. He was determined to receive his blessing. Now it doesn't say he kept wrestling, it states he refused to let go of him. The bible states the man blessed him there (v 29).
Jacob held on, he realized that he couldn't get any where with God by wrestling, struggling, resisting, nor standing in God's way.

The only way to get anywhere with God is by submitting, being obident, & just holding on to him. We need to be more like Jacob, find a place to be alone with God. To take hold & not let go. Earnestly seeking the Lord, wholeheartedly believing in him. Strengthening our faith, our relationship, & growing closer unto him. Depending on him for our every need. Allowing him to lead & guide our lifes.
There are so many exsample in the bible of people going thru adversities & had they not held on What if:
God had stopped on the 6th day
the Ishmeeslites had only walked around Jericho 6 times
Elijah prayed only 6 times for rain
The three Hebrew children
Daniel in the lion's den
Woman with the issue of blood
What if Jacob had let go. Sometimes we get discouraged when God does answer on our time. Sometimes we just want to give up, we get tired of the struggle. But that maybe some of our problem, we take it to the Lord but continue to struggle with it & by doing this we our standing in the way of God. Instend of taking it to the Lord & holding on to him to take care of things.
We can't stop praying, hoping, believing, waiting, nor working.
Isa 40:31

We have to HOLD ON

" All praise to God the Father and our Master, Jesus, the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. "

Thank you, but you know what they say if the Lord lays something on our heart, there is something in it for you also. And there sure was. The one thing I always ask the Lord is to strengthen me, help me to grow in him, so that I can continue to help others.

It took awhile for me to realize after I got dx with my MS & had to stop working. That the Lord still had work for me. I had always wanted to be a nurse & then not to be able to do it, was very very hard for me. But I have always been very active in our church & my hubby's ministry. That is how the Lord kept me going, he showed me how much I needed to do for him, to share the word with others. PTL he will take a broken vessel & use it to glorify him.

Ready To Stay, Yet Ready To Go

Ask ourselves:
Are we 100% ready to stay & remain committed to the work God has for us?
Sometimes we get so caught up in earthly things that the idea of heaven is out of our thoughts, but in times of trouble, when we find life is a drudgery, we long for heaven as though it were an escape.
One thing about Paul, he was always ready.
3 of his readies:
Ready for Service- Rom 1:15 to preach, Titus 3:1 to every good work, 1
Tim 6:18 to distribute, to communicate, 1 Peter 3:15 to give an answer
Ready for Suffering Acts 21:13 not be bound only, but also to die- suffer in the path of obedience
Ready for Sacrifice 2 Tim 4:6 to be offered for sacrifice
We need to be ready:
To perish Deut 26:5, Job 29:13, Prov 31:6, Isa 27:13
To pardon: Neh 9:17, Ps 86:5, Isa 38:20
To do: 2 Sam 15:15
To go: Deut1:41, Lk 22:33, Acts 20:7
To hear: Ecc 5:1
To be revealed: 1 Peter 1:5
To halt: Ps 38:17
To die: Rev 3;2
So, are we Ready to go-do the Lord's work, or Stay where we're at & be satisfied to do nothing more. Ready to stay & do all we can to be/do what God wants.
Ready to GO-To meet the Lord, are we ready if he called, could we stand before him & say we did all that you ask of me.
I don't know if we can ever do enough, so let's continue to be Ready to Stay, Yet Ready to Go

Be Strong and Courageous
Do not be afraid neither be thou dismayed for the Lord is with you(always) wherevere you go

You know so many times in our lives whatever we walk through in our lives we get overwhelmed, we are worry warts, we stress about so many things in our life!!! when things come into our life, and its something we cannot handle, instead of stopping and giving it to Jesus, we immediately either call someone and talk over and over about how stressed we are....
how instead of stopping and talking to Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit about it. we loose it, stress out....and seems like nothing is getting better, seems like we cannot shake the things we are going through..

Let me ENCOURAGE you... when you are going through any physical, emotional, financial and spiritual situations.. STOP!
and tell Jesus everything, and as we do, God gives us HIS strength ... we have courage for each day!! instead of being afraid, worried and stressed, we rely on GOD totally to get
us through anything we are walking through...
Father, God is always with you, his angels are around you, he wants you to call out to him, he wants you to rely and trust him to get you through each day!
He is your hope/salvation... He will take something that seesm SO bad and turn it around for the good!!
(genesis 50:20)

One time i had a check I had written and then didnt make it to the bank until later that after noon, when they had changed to the next day.....
well, I start flipping out about it, b/c I knew it was gonna bounce, I knew i would have all kind of charges ....... and i could not afford this... this is when walt and I were going through alot of financial situations....
well I thought NO!!! I am NOT gonna be upset about this..
and, I got down on my knees and thanked Father God for not
letting that check go through... I praised him, and thanked him over and over for taking care of me and walt!!! well, the next morning I got up, checked my account and that check had NOT cleared, which there was NO way it should of not payed.. I was so excited, i was in awe, how I trusted GOD from that moment to always take care of my needs!!!
Father God is an awesome God. he LOVES you so very much.. He will take care of his children!!! No matter what you are going through, TRUST HIM!!! he will carry you through....

I am so blessed and honored you are here with me! you
are a treasure to me!!!
